If you are in a vehicle, park at Anavachal Parking from where the Periyar Tiger Reserve's buses will transport you to the boat landing area which is 4 kilometres away. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket counter, and it’s advisable to book in advance, especially during peak tourist season. The best time to visit Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is from October to April, when the weather is pleasant, and the chances of spotting wildlife are higher.
